Medicolegal Aspects of Examination of Sexual Assault Survivor & Accused

A webinar on the examination of survivors and accused in sexual assault cases for Medical Officers is critical because it combines medical care, forensic evidence collection, and legal responsibilities. Proper examination ensures that survivors receive empathetic, trauma informed, and dignified care without re traumatization, while also ensuring that the rights of the accused are protected through scientific, unbiased, and legally sound examination procedures.

This training session aims to provide updated knowledge regarding protocols, standard operating procedures, medico legal documentation, evidence collection, preservation, and courtroom responsibilities in sexual assault cases. It will also focus on the examination of the accused, collection of forensic samples, potency related aspects, and medico legal interpretation which play a crucial role in investigation and judicial proceedings. Proper training of Medical Officers can significantly improve the quality of evidence and contribute towards fair legal outcomes and better conviction rates.
